Pumpkin

It contains cellulose, protein, carotene, calcium, iron, magnesium phosphorous and vitamins A, B1, B2, PP and C.
Pumpkin is often utilised in slimming diets because of its large proportion of cellulose, water and fibre. It quickens the digestive processes, removes toxins, also removing unnecessary by-products of digestion and regulates the distribution of water in the body.
Valuable interior
Pumpkin’s are rich in mineral salts and vitamins and have something unusually valuable inside – seeds. Pumpkin seeds contain protein, omega-3 fatty acids, selenium, magnesium, zinc, vitamin C and group B vitamins. It aids the healing of urinary tract infections and has a diuretic action, together with healing inflammations, cholagogic action, and helping to eradicate parasites.
Giant pumpkins
In Switzerland each year a competition for the largest pumpkin takes place. The competition’s objects become larger and larger each year reaching as much as 450 kg.
