Yoga is a 5000-year old Indian practice created by Hindu sages who invented a philosophical system and called it yoga.

Perfection of body and mindYoga elements are added to muscle stretching and flexing exercises. Yoga should be perceived as a method of body and mind perfection that becomes a lifestyle.

Relaxation, flexibility, positive thinking

The base of the exercises is physical poses or Asanas, Breathing Techniques or Pranayamas and Meditation to achieve better flexibility. Yoga helps you stay flexible and remain in good shape. It also reduces tiredness and strengthens a person’s mental health. You can learn to relax properly, breathe, exercise, meditate, eat healthy and think positively. You do not have to be a vegetarian to enjoy the benefits that flow from everyday yoga exercises.

There are a couple of yoga styles and it is good to get to know them:

Ashtanga Yoga is the system of intensive yoga.
It involves progressive series of postures. Everyone can use their own intensity of exercises.
Bikram Yoga is performed in a heated room with 35-40º C. The heat increases sweating and the body cleanses, the muscles get stronger.
Hatha Yoga – the most famous of all the yoga types, at its base you find asanas.
Iyengar yoga – the most popular kind of yoga in the USA, it aims at teaching subtle postures, paying a special attention to muscles and the right body posture.
Vinyasa yoga
includes intensive stretching exercises, concentrates on reconciling movement and breathing.

The intensity of exercises is adjusted to the possibilities that our lifestyle offers (once a week or every day). We will soon notice positive changes in our body.
