Peas, the beloved vegetable of our childhood are not only exceptionally tasty but also have a unique combination of elements. Thanks to the combination of vitamins B1, B2, B6 and C as well as iron it constitutes a treatment for fatigue, anaemia, learning problems, immune system disorders.

Favourite of the kings
Peas are in a group of vegetables already known in the ancient times. It was one of the first ‘domesticated’ vegetables at first cultivated in the Near East and in the Balkans. It was being consumed in a form of dried seeds until the 16th century when Italian gardeners cultivated varieties meant to be consumed raw. Louis XVI loved peas and ordered that they be grown in the gardens of the Versailles.
Peas and the President
Peas were one of the favourite vegetables of Thomas Jefferson. Each year he held a contest for the earliest harvest of this vegetable. The winner of the contest invited the rest of the participants announcing, that peas are ready for eating.
