If you’ve lost weight, you look in the mirror and you like what you see – maintain what you have achieved. Eat fruit and vegetables which will help you maintain good spirits and stay fit. We’ve chosen ones rich in vitamins and available in the late autumn and winter.

Cabbage

Cooked or steamed with a bit of oil will have a slimming effect, while preventing constipation. In fact, we recommend sauerkraut which is considered to be in the vitalizing foods group.

The substances contained in sauerkraut have detoxifying properties, they strengthen connective tissue, and remove excess water, which helps get rid of cellulite. The body becomes firm and smooth. Cabbage provides the body with vitamin C, potassium, copper and valuable fibre. Lactic acid in sauerkraut prevents bloating and regenerates intestinal flora.

Carrots

Carrots contain the energy of the sun and are the cheapest natural medicine available. It is a treasury of vitamins of the B, D and E groups and most of all of carotene (which transforms in the body into vitamin A). It has a great influence on eyesight. When you cook or steam it, add a teaspoon of oil to help carotene absorb more easily. Eaten daily, it will give your skin a beautiful and healthy colour. It is also rich in potassium, sulphur, copper, iron, phosphorus and iodine. They regulate digestion, stimulate metabolism and have a slimming effect on the body.

Dried fruit and nuts

They are allowed but only in limited amounts – 100 g provides the body with 500 kcal. This is a lot, but you can have a few raisins, dried apricots or peanuts every day – they are definitely much healthier than sweets.

Dried fruit provides vitamins of the B group; nuts give us vitamin E and valuable minerals: iron, potassium, calcium and magnesium. They have a calming effect on us and are great for making us feel better. They contain fibre which stimulates metabolism.

Parsley

The roots are great for storing them in the basement, but the leaves can be grown all year long in pots to guarantee their organic origin. Parsley contains vitamins C and E and essential oils, so they are helpful when treating kidney diseases. Parsley has diuretic properties, cleansing the body from toxins. It smoothes the skin and helps maintain a slim figure. It is worth eating also for its natural aphrodisiac qualities and we do lose between 200 and 300 calories during intercourse.
