Recipe for garlic baguette - a symbol of french cuisine.
Product description

Baguette, a long bread roll, is one of the symbols of France, especially of Paris. Just like the Eiffel Tower, wine, beret or cheese, it became a symbol. Although there are many kinds of baguette outside of France, they became popular in many countries of the world.

Ingredients

2 baguettes
4 big garlic cloves
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
2 tablespoons chopped basil
1 cup shredded Cheddar, Parmigianino or other hard cheese
1 teaspoon salt to taste
7 tablespoons butter
6 tablespoons olive oil

Preparation
  • Soften butter and then add olive oil, chopped garlic and salt. Mix everything until reaching smooth consistency.
  • Add chopped parsley to the mixture and stir gently.
  • Now you can cut the baguette in half and cut each half almost to the end making small 2-3 cm long sandwiches. Then spread some garlic paste between cuts and also put some butter on the top of the baguettes.
  • Now wrap each baguette in aluminium foil, bake in an oven preheated to 180° C for 10-12 minutes.
  • After removing the baguettes form the oven unwrap them and sprinkle with cheeses and then brown them in the oven for additional 5 minutes.

Serving:

Such brown and crispy baguettes should be taken out of the oven, cut into smaller pieces. They should be served while still hot.
