Chapati – Indian bread, shaped like a pancake, made of atta flour and baked on a griddle.
Product description
Pancakes are served with different vegetable dishes, rice and dhal soup. Chapati is used instead of a spoon you fill it with ready made dishes. The size of the pancake depends on the region and cooking style, abut an average size pancake is about 10 centimetres in diameter.

Ingredients
1 ½ cup atta flour
½ tsp salt
1 cup water
2 tbsp melted butter
Preparation
- Sift the flour into a large bowl, add salt and stir well. Make a well in the middle and pour in a stream of water in the centre. Cover and rest for ½ hour.
- Divide the dough into 16 one size pieces. Roll out the dough into a thin, round patty, about 10-15 centimetres in diameter.
- Heat the pan and place a chapati there. Bake on one side until bubbles show up, then flip it over. Gently press the patty with a towel, and then flip it over again. Chapati should we well baked.
Serving:Spread one side of chapati with butter and stack them one on the top of the other so that they remain warm.
