Callanetics
1 hours instead of 20
Callanetics exercises are the product of Callan Pinckney, who created them to shape ideal posture, firm the body and enhance fitness. It is believed that one hour of callanetics equals to about 20 hours of aerobics or a couple of hours of classical exercises. The exercises are quite simple, but very intensive and they require consistency and systematic approach. You need to carefully follow the instructions for body posture. In the beginning the exercises may seem too difficult, but after a while there will not be any problem at doing them.
Training at home
Before starting exercises at home it is advisable to practice for a few hours with a professional instructor in a fitness club. It is also good to spend some time reading about the techniques. The movements should be done slowly, you need to remember to breathe properly. The right kind of relaxation music will also help you overcome the strain and relax mentally. Training should be repeated at least twice a week for about one hour.
Effective practice
- Warm up. Precedes the core exercises, helps relax the muscles and prepares the body for extensive effort. There has to be time to work out on the waist, shoulders, back and neck.
- Core exercises. Geared towards legs, hips and tummy. It is very important to breathe properly; you cannot close your lips.
- Stretching at the end of exercises.
It is advisable to do each exercise for a certain time, from 50 to 100 seconds; therefore it is necessary to have a timer with you.
